Ladies and Gentlemen
by Emma Donoghue
Directed by Elizabeth Chacchia
Set in a New York dressing-room where the past
re-enacts itself on the night of a vaudeville star's
last comeback. Inspired by a 1895 newspaper expose
of Annie Hindle -- the mustachioed 'Monarch of Male
Impersonation', who threw it all away for love --
Ladies and Gentlemen conjures up the tragicomic
figure of a woman outed by the tabliods as 'a man's
widow and a woman's widower'. Along with a
colorful cast of characters, Ladies and Gentlemen
explores the dreams and survival strategies of
emigrants, and the pleasures and risks of playing a
role. Part of the Rainbow Theater Festival.
PERFORMANCES: April 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 8pm
April 25 at 2pm.
Tickets:
$6 (students and seniors) and $12 (general admission)

Nijinsky's Last Dance
by Norman Allen
This one-man tour-de-force delves into the hidden
recesses of the great dancer's psyche as he fights for
his sanity. In a searing 90 minutes, Nijinsky not
only relives his past but embodies the people who
inhabit it, including lover Sergei Diaghilev, prima
ballerina Tamara Karsavinam, and artistic champion
Auguste Rodin. Through the passionate telling of
his own rise and fall Nijinsky offers his audience a
glimpse into a collapsing civilization and the
unraveling of the twentieth century. Part of
the Rainbow Theater Festival.

May 2 and 9 at 2pm.
