The Lambda Project:
"Marriage Equality in New York"

y

The Topic

New York State is home to the Stonewall Inn and is considered by many to be the birthplace of the modern GLBTIQ rights movement.  After a long campaign for equality by Governor Cuomo, the New York State senate on June 24, 2001 passed marriage equality legislation.  At this time New York is the most populous state to confer marriage equality and the third to do so through the legislative process.

For many this is an opportunity for celebration.  For others a time of quiet reflection.  As we transition from the old to the new it is important to stake stock of our lives at this amazing moment.  Fill out the form below and tell the world your story of what marriage equality means for you.  Use examples from your own life.  Be sure to give as much detail as possible.

REMINDER: THE MORE SPECIFIC YOUR STORY IS THE BETTER WE WILL UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT OF VIEW.  TRY YOUR BEST TO TALK ABOUT SPECIFIC PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS WHEN TELLING YOUR STORY.

Describe yourself so that we can get a fuller picture of who you are.  This statistical information will help us move your story from the page to the stage.
